On 1 December 2016 testing services were offered to internally displaced people in Sviatohirsk

On 1 December 2016, a campaign dedicated to the World AIDS Day was conducted in the community of internally displaced people in Sviatohirsk (Donetsk oblast) within cooperation of two international charitable foundations – Alliance for Public Health and Health Right International in Ukraine – implementers of the projects supported by Elton John AIDS Foundation, together with the Donetsk Regional AIDS Center.

The goal of the campaign was to increase the number of people who know their HIV status, raise the awareness of people and motivate them to get tested for HIV as well as draw public attention to the problem of the HIV epidemic in Ukraine.

Nasha Dopomoha NGO from Sloviansk took part in the campaign. With support of the Alliance, this NGO implements the project providing HIV prevention services to adolescents who use drugs (funded by Elton John AIDS Foundation) and the project “Building a Sustainable System of Comprehensive Services for HIV/ AIDS Prevention, Treatment, Care and Support for Most-at-risk Populations and PLHIV in Ukraine” (funded by the Global Fund).

Pre-test counseling and rapid HIV testing services were offered to all interested people.
