In January 2004 on the invitation of UN Secretary-General Koffy Annan Elena Pinchuk and her husband Viktor Pinchuk who represented ICTV TV channel participated in the Global Media AIDS Initiative.

More than 40 leading TV companies became the witnesses of Ukrainian representatives declaring the intention to conduct unprecedented media campaign to fight the problem of HIV/AIDS ignorance and attract the public attention. Secretary-General Kofi Annan supported the initiative of the Ukrainian delegation by recording “Let’s stop AIDS!” on official UN languages including Ukrainian. For today “Let’s stop AIDS!” campaign has reached the significant media factors as well as has accomplished the main task: has united the recourses of commercial TV channels to fight HIV/AIDS in Ukraine and has created the first opportunity of conducting of social-oriented national actions.
