Projects aimed to support people living with HIV/AIDS are very important for us. The unit to measure efficiency of these projects is saved lives. It means a lot for us and every month and every year we’re trying to increase the amount of the support.

| Bank deposits HIV-positive children |
|
 People supported by our Foundation often repeat: “We are less depressed by disease then by dependence on others help”. In January 2008 Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation in a partnership with Ukrsotsbank has finished pilot project. Due to this project HIV-positive children and their foster families will be more independent from charities. For the first time in Ukraine bank technologies are used to help HIV-positive people. For each of 15 adopted children - participants of the project – ANTIAIDS Foundation opened a 5 000 USD deposit with increased interest rate and special terms of payment provided by Ukrsotsbank. Monthly foster parents will draw interest, when child will achieve 18 years – the whole deposited sum could be used to their discretion, for example, as education fee or mortgage credit. |

| Direct help to people living with HIV/AIDS |
|
| People living with HIV/AIDS very often face the problem of life and death: the required treatment and some tests are usually unavailable for them. In this case the Foundation makes the decision to support these people. Most people living with HIV/AIDS unable to pay for treatment and support the health at their own account. Certainly, the government supports these people but mostly the support of the Foundation was a single hope for people applied for help to Elena Franchuk as the founder of ANTIAIDS Foundation |

| Support for doctors and medical entities |
|
 In 2005 we started new project to support medical entities and care providers. The main idea was to reduce stigma and discrimination of HIV-patients by protecting doctors and improving healthcare facilities.
For three months of 2008, Foundation supported 9 medical entities for the total sum of 5,061 USD.
In 2007 Foundation supported 29 medical entities and 2 foster families for the total sum of 147,737 USD.
In 2006 Foundation supported 16 medical entities and 2 host families for HIV-positive orphans in Makeevka for the total sum of 15 905 USD. Among our beneficiaries this year are: orphanages in Kiev, Makeevka, Bila Tserkva and Odessa, TB hospital in Kiev, infectious disease hospitals in Kiev and Chernigov, day care center for children with HIV/AIDS in Kiev, day care cabinet in Kiev AIDS Center (Vertical), Lugansk oblast AIDS center and Lavra hospital. |

| "Beryozka" Orphanage |
|
 On 19th of December, in the Saint Nicolas Day, Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation presented for the first time the results of the project on renovation of Kiev “Beryozka” orphanage, where kids with HIV/AIDS live. This joint project of Kiev city administration and “Kievgorstroy” company has lasted for two years. Foundation spent on this project more than 500 000 USD, raised in 2003-2004. This December day all the participants of the project came to visit children. They congratulated small habitants of “Beryozka”, presented them with toys and enjoyed together New Year Show. |

| Funds collection for children’s infectious disease hospitals in Ukraine |

 29 thousand EURO is the total cost of new furniture and equipment delivered in January and February 2006 to the Makeyevka specialized orphanage and to Kiev regional children hospital ¹1. The money was raised in June 4, 2005 during the auction where 14 paintings of famous Austrian artists were exhibited. The auction has been organized by the Austrian AIDS Society and the German AIDS society, German NGO Connect Plus e.V. and Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation. Raised funds were divided in half between two institutions. The decision of how to spent money was left on the administrations of both institutions. |

| For the first time in CIS performed the operation on valve replacement to the HIV-positive patient |
|
 On 21 of October 2005, for the first time in CIS, surgeons of Kiev Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery performed the operation on valve replacement to the HIV-positive patient with diagnosis of infective endocarditis. Now, all the worries about the patient are in the past. At the beginning of November Pavel left the clinic and moved “under the wing” of experts of the HIV/AIDS department of Institute of epidemiology and infectious diseases. Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation procured necessary for surgeon protection materials during the operation. Foundation has promised to cover the costs of temperature gages used during the operation and has helped parents to cover the cost of examination on virus load, as well.
Total amount of funds donated by the Foundation on this project is more than 20 000 UAH. |
