Elton John AIDS Foundation
Established by Sir Elton John in 1992, the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations supporting innovative HIV/AIDS prevention education programs and direct care and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS. Since its founding, EJAF has raised over $125 million to support worthy programs in 55 countries around the globe. EJAF supports its work through proceeds from special events, cause-related marketing projects, and voluntary contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI)
The Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative aims to bring high quality medical care and treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS and to improve health systems in resource poor countries.

CHAI has negotiated agreements to systematically change the economics of care and treatment in the developing world. Its first agreement, concluded in October 2003, reduced the price of first-line antiretroviral drugs by one half of the world’s lowest prices. In January 2004, the CHAI reached an agreement with leading medical technology companies to reduce the price of CD4 and viral load laboratory tests by up to 80 percent for people with HIV/AIDS.

The Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative has created a consortium modeled along the lines of a “buying group”. The initial Member Purchasers include its partner countries in Africa and the Caribbean. Volumes across these Member Purchasers are consolidated, and tendering processes in each of the countries will accommodate multi-year tenders. These countries will be ordering large quantities of ARVs and diagnostics over the next several years in predictable volumes, which will provide companies with an opportunity to gain economies of scale.
The Mercury Phoenix Trust
The Mercury Phoenix Trust is the charitable foundation organized by the remaining members of Queen and their manager Jim Beach immediately after the death of Freddie Mercury from AIDS in November 1991. Since 1992 the Mercury Phoenix Trust have been responsible for donating more than £8 million in the fight against AIDS making over 600 grants to charities worldwide. The Trust is following the latest developments in drug therapies and adapting funding policy to the changing needs of those affected by HIV/AIDS, and current concentrating it’s efforts on education and awareness in the Developing World.
All-Ukrainian network of people living with HIV
All-Ukrainian network of people living with HIV/AIDS is a charitable organization that unites both HIV-positive and HIV-negative people of Ukraine. The All-Ukrainian Network has representatives in 17 regions of Ukraine and reckons more than 349 members. This organization was founded by HIV-positive people to support each other, protect their interests and human rights, to advocate access to ARV-treatment and diagnostics, to enhance quality of people living with HIV/AIDS, to form tolerant attitude towards people living with HIV/AIDS, to draw the attention of mass media and the government to the HIV/AIDS problems.
Ukrainian Fashion Week
Ukrainian week of pret-a-porte is held twice per year. Its main goal is promoting Ukrainian fashion and local producers. Ukrainian Fashion Week is a cultural event of national scale. It’s meant to be Ukrainian analogue of annual weeks of pret-a-porte in Paris, London, Milan, New-York and other fashion capitals of the world.
Miss World contest
The President of the Miss World Organization, Julia Morley, coined the phrase 'Beauty With A Purpose' more than 25 years ago and since then more than $400 million USD have been raised in its name in support of children's charities across the globe, bringing help and hope to hundreds of thousands in need. Among the many recipients of this outstanding fund-generating activity has been the Nelson Mandela Trust, Canada’s Cops For Cancer, Variety Clubs International, Operation Hunger, and the SOS Children’s Villages which cares for orphaned and abandoned children in 132 countries.
BOLEAR Med
Company “BOLEAR MEDICA” (TM VIZIT) is a producer and distributer of the medical wares (condoms, quick tests, balloon wares, medical clothes, wares for infants, plaster and other products). Assortment of the company is over 500 names of leading German, Spanish, Italian, Thailand, Russian producers.
Medcom Ukraine
Medcom Ukraine Company works on the Ukrainian market since 1999. It is the biggest supplier of high quality Contex condoms. The condoms of Contex trade mark, manufactured by English company AVK POLYPHARM, are considered to be the leading brand on the Ukrainian market. This fact is affirmed in Ukraine by the “Condoms of the year” nomination in 2003 and 2004. The company has its representative offices in all regions of Ukraine.
Victor Pinchuk Foundation
The goal of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation is to contribute to the modernization of Ukraine and to support the emergence of a new generation of Ukrainian leaders who are committed to serving their country. The Foundation’s six fields of activity and nearly 20 projects have been carefully selected because of their strategic importance to fulfill this goal.
UN Office in Ukraine
There are folowing UN agencies and associated organizations working in Ukraine: IAEA, ILO, IFC, IMF, IOM, UNAIDS, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNHCR, WB, WHO. All of them co-operate with the state and people for Ukraine’s development to support the country to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS
Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS is the pre-eminent business organization leading the business fight against HIV/AIDS. Over 170 leading international companies are members of the GBC and are committed to harnessing the power of the international business community to fight the AIDS pandemic.
The GBC’s goal is to increase the range and quality of business sector AIDS programs, – both in the workplace and broader community. The GBC identifies new opportunities for businesses, supports the development of AIDS strategies by individual companies and encourages governments, the international community and the non-governmental sector to partner with the business sector. Member companies participate in the work of the GBC in the ways that best suits them, from membership of project working groups, to providing advice on relevant international issues of importance to business, or by simply adding the force of their reputation and reach to our work.
As of January, 2005 Ukrainian companies RKS and Interpipe corporation are the members of GBC.
The International Alliance on HIV/AIDS
The international Alliance on HIV/AIDS is the international non-profitable organization set up in 1993 with the purpose of supporting the public initiatives directed, first of all, on combating HIV/AIDS epidemic in the developing countries and in the countries with transition economy. The Alliance began its activity in Ukraine in December, 2000 from realization of ”The program of support of NGOs and resources development in the field of HIV/AIDS prophylaxis” in cooperation with USA Agency on the international development within the framework of Transatlantic initiative of EC and the USA. Since March, 2003 the Alliance programs in Ukraine are realized by the International Charitable Foundation “The international Alliance on HIV/AIDS in Ukraine”.
Global Media AIDS Initiative
Global Media AIDS Initiative was established by the UN Secretary-General Kofi Anan to better involve mass media leaders in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The first meeting of the GMAI took place in January 2004 in New York City. At the second round of Global Media AIDS Initiative, which took place on April, 12th 2005 in Cannes, UN Secretary-General Kofi Anan and the 42nd American President Bill Clinton encouraged participants to invest more resources in the fight against HIV/AIDS by delivering special speeches. GMAI members exchanged experience gained and took new commitment for the coming year.
Substance Abuse and AIDS prevention Foundation (SAAPF)
SAAPF is non-profitable charitable organization created by the experts in the field of prophylaxis and rehabilitation problems connected with drug addictions. The mission of the organization is to create and implement the prophylaxis programs of drug addiction and HIV/AIDS as well as providing of the psychological and social help to people, living with HIV/AIDS drug users.
International Renaissance Foundation (IRF)
The International Renaissance Foundation (IRF) was founded in April 1990. IRF is an integral part of the International Soros network which incorporates national and regional foundations in more than thirty countries around the world, primarily in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the former Soviet Union. These foundations share a common goal of supporting educational, social and legal initiatives that promote the development and establishment of an open society.
The charitable association “The light of hope”
In April, 1999 a couple of HIV-positive people, together with psychologists, lawyers and other professionals who have helped them to feel themselves needed, have set up the charitable association “The light of hope”. The basic directions of the association activity is assistance in granting social - psychological, medical and legal aid to people living with HIV/AIDS and their families; the rehabilitation of people living with HIV/AIDS; alcoholism, drug addictions and HIV/AIDS prevention.
PrivatBank
PrivatBank is one of the biggest Ukrainian banks. The national PrivatBank network of banking services includes 1 640 bank subsidiaries and branches throughout whole territory of Ukraine. PrivatBank is presented like the greatest operator in the market of banking retail services. For the 1st of July, 2004 the bank provides services for 7 millions of individual accounts, and the volume of attracted funds from general population runs up to 5,44 billions. PrivatBank is the biggest issuer and credit card acquirer bank in Ukraine. The bank issues currently over 5,4 millions of plastic credit cards. In the credit cards’ network of PrivatBank there are the 1 500 ATM-machines and 13 600 POS-terminals. In 2005 Bank is planning to increase the network of ATM-machines to 2 000 items, opening up opportunities for active bank service use by the inhabitants of any locality of Ukraine.
Connect plus
Connect plus was initiated by people with many years of working experience as part of the German AIDS support movement. The association was founded in April 2001. The objective of the association is to link (connect) the know-how and experience of AIDS professionals and the self help movement in Germany with AIDS projects in Eastern Europe.
Center of perspective social researches
Realization of scientific researches and developments, directed to the strategy of social politic in Ukraine; monitoring of scientific and researching works concerning social and work politic; participation in the project grounding of legislative and normative statements of Ukraine, development of methodological and analytic materials; preparation of scientific reports, analytic and informative materials resulting researches; providing of scientific expertise of legislative and normative statements in social relationships and social protection of population; collaboration with scientific and research institutes of other countries; propaganda of scientific knowledge as the results of research; organization of conferences, seminars, meetings devoted to the scientific problems and participation of other institutions in them.
