Elena Pinchuk
Elena Pinchuk is one of Ukraine’s leading businesswomen and philanthropists. In 2003 Elena Pinchuk founded ANTIAIDS Foundation - the first and the only charity established with private funds and aiming at fighting against the AIDS epidemic in Ukraine. As Chairwoman of ANTIAIDS Foundation Mrs. Pinchuk initiated joint projects with such organizations as Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative, Elton John AIDS Foundation, Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Mercury Phoenix Trust and Miss World Organization. The Seventh General Secretary of UN Kofi Annan, Sir Elton John and Queen have participated in the ANTIAIDS Foundation projects. Elena Pinchuk has also served as a member of UNAIDS High level Commission on HIV prevention, representing Eastern European region in 2010-2012. On October 18, 2010 at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 9th annual «An Enduring Vision» ceremony in New York Elena and Victor Pinchuk were honored for their contribution to the fight against HIV/AIDS. After obtaining a master’s degree in Economics and Sociology from Dnipropetrovsk State University, she worked in banking and TV communication. Since 2003 Mrs Pinchuk has been supervising activities of Ukraine’s leading TV channels, consolidated in 2009 under the StarLight Media television group – the ¹1 player on the Ukrainian media market. Elena Pinchuk was ranked by La Tribune as one the most influential women who changed the world in 2010.
